Starlight Lounge
Point Arena poet Blake More will read her poetry at the Willits Community Theatre on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 7 p.m.
More is a well-known poet on the coast and throughout Mendocino County. She sits on the Mendocino County Poet Laureate Committee, representing the literary and artistic communities of the south coast. Her work includes performance poetry, video, murals and teaching. She is the poet laureate of Point Arena, is a longtime teacher with California Poets in
the Schools as well as the Area Coordinator of the Poets in the Schools program for Mendocino County. She hosts a monthly poetry & jazz series in Point Arena and two radio shows. Her most recent book is DystopiaUnplugged: Please Talk Back.
This reading is part of Starlight Lounge, an on-going series hosted and supported by the Willits Community Theatre. In addition, this reading is supported by a grant from Poets and Writers, a nationally-known organization that supports literary artists. The reading will take place at the
Willits Community Theatre Playhouse, located at 37 West Van Lane in downtown Willits.
Admission is by donation and a $10 donation is suggested. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. An open reading will follow the featured poet.
