CHUCK MORDOCK

Chuck Mordock has been part of the Ukiah performing arts community for as long as he can remember. Chuck literally grew up in a theatre, spending most evenings at Ukiah Players Theatre, where his father, Steve Wilson, was the primary lighting designer. In his teen years, Chuck's passion of improv truly took hold, co-founding the Upstarts improv group at UPT. He trained and performed with Mendocino College, UPT, S.P.A.C.E., Mendocino Ballet, and more, before moving to Southern California to study drama and music at the University of California, Irvine.

After returning to Ukiah, he has continued working across the region as a director, writer, choreographer, performer, and teacher. In early 2024 Chuck was finally able to work with WCT and has continued to collaborate with ever since. He now co-runs the Improv program at Ukiah Players Theatre, teaches Beginning Improv at S.P.A.C.E., and is the founder and director of "Fighting Chance Live", a TTRPG-inspired improv ensemble that blends narrative roleplay with live performance. Chuck is ecstatic to be spearheading the Gateway to the Stars youth program at WCT and can't wait to introduce more of our local youth to the magic of theatre.

Schuyler Marcier has spent more than a decade on the stage, with rarely a break between productions. Since his first role in the ensemble of Peter Pan at Ukiah Players Theatre in 2015, he has appeared in more than 30 productions, primarily as an actor. Along the way, he has played everything from a banished prince in José Rivera’s Sueño, to both Sir Toby Belch and Orsino in a touring production of Twelfth Night in Wyoming, Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night the Musical, and, most recently, a wonderfully inept father in the world premiere of Louisa@Fruitlands. There have been far too many strange, serious, and ridiculous characters in between to mention here.
Schuyler holds associate degrees in Art from William Rainey Harper College and Theatre Arts from Mendocino College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His education and years onstage have reinforced his belief that good acting is built on fundamentals, and those fundamentals are something we never outgrow.
Through Gateway to the Stage: Audition Foundations, Schuyler is excited to share those foundational skills with young actors who are ready to learn, put in effort, and grow as artists. The curriculum is designed for everyone, from students who have never set foot on a stage to experienced young performers looking to deepen their craft and reconnect with those essential skills that make stage acting feel honest, alive, and fun.
